English text below

Enjoy Beethoven’s legendary violin concerto and Mendelssohn’s vital 4th
Beethoven’s violin concerto stands at the top of the classical violin concerto repertoire. The concerto is a challenge for all violinists, because it is both transparent in the best classical sense, while its symphonic structure and wide development look towards the romantic period. The violin soloist is Anna Mrkova, who has led Copenhagen Soloists in the past few years.
Mendelssohn’s 4th symphony is probably the most popular of his five symphonies. It is inspired by the composer’s tour to Italy and known as the Italian. It contains an irresistible and bubbling joy, as well as a lyrical longing.
Copenhagen Soloists has over 15 years performed music in historically informed practice, on period instruments. It began in 2006 as an ensemble specializing in baroque, but has since widened the repertoire to classical and romantic.
